Quick answer
Go to hpr.abdm.gov.in → choose Register → verify with Aadhaar or ABHA OTP → select your category (doctor) and council → enter your registration number → upload your council certificate, degree and photo → submit. Your HPR ID becomes active after your medical council verifies the details.
Why HPR registration matters
- It is one of the core ABDM registries, alongside the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and ABHA for patients.
- Hospitals completing ABDM onboarding need their practising doctors on HPR and linked to the facility.
- Records shared through ABDM carry a verified professional identity.
Documents to keep ready
- Aadhaar-linked mobile number (or an existing ABHA number)
- State or national medical council registration number
- Council registration certificate (clear scan or PDF)
- Qualification degree certificate
- Recent passport-size photograph
Step-by-step HPR registration
- Open hpr.abdm.gov.in and select Register.
- Verify your identity with Aadhaar OTP or your ABHA number.
- Create your HPR ID and set a password.
- Choose your category (Doctor) and sub-category, then select your medical council.
- Enter your registration number exactly as it appears on the council certificate.
- Fill in qualification and work details, then upload the documents.
- Submit. The application moves to council verification.
Checking verification status
Log in at hpr.abdm.gov.in with your HPR ID or mobile OTP and open your profile. If the status is still pending, the council has not finished verification. Common reasons for delay are a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the council record, or an unclear certificate scan.
